Product Care & Help Guide
Solid brass handles, forged-iron shelf brackets, and architectural hardware are designed to provide lasting tactile quality. To preserve fine metal finishes, smooth spring mechanisms, and thread integrity, please follow our hardware maintenance guide below:
1. Cabinet Knobs, Pulls & Door Handles
- Installation Caution: Always hand-tighten machine screws with a manual screwdriver. Avoid using heavy-duty electric impact drivers, which can strip internal brass threads or scratch plated finishes.
- Lacquered Brass & Matte Black: Wipe clean periodically using a soft microfibre cloth dampened with warm water and mild dishwashing liquid, then dry immediately with a clean towel. Never use abrasive metal creams, brass polishes (like Brasso on lacquered items), or bleach sprays.
- Living Finishes: For unlacquered brass or antique bronze, allow the metal to age gracefully, or apply a dab of Renaissance micro-crystalline wax once a year to preserve your preferred level of sheen.
2. Shelf Brackets & Wall Storage
- Correct Wall Plugs: For plasterboard/drywall, always use specialized hollow-wall anchors (such as heavy-duty hollow toggle fixings) rather than standard rawlplugs to achieve maximum load ratings.
- Level Alignment: Use a spirit level when marking pilot holes to ensure shelf boards rest flat across both brackets, preventing uneven downward torque.
3. Door Latches & Hinges
- Mechanical Lubrication: If interior door latches or butt hinges begin to squeak over time, apply a small drop of 3-In-One light machine oil or dry PTFE spray directly to the hinge pivot pin.
